YWCA Lake County

TechGYRLS® Summer Camp

TechGYRLS summer camp consists of four 2-week sessions, starting mid-June and ending in August. Summer campers get real exposure to STE2M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Mathematics) through a variety of activities and field trips during each two-week session. Past TechGYRLS summer campers have gotten to visit Abbott, AbbVie, Waukegan City Hall, Pauly Honda, Argonne National Laboratory, North Shore Sanitary District, Waukegan Generation Station, Walgreens, Waste Management Recycling Center, Lincoln Park Zoo, Discovery World, the Museum of Science & Industry, and the Field Museum (just to name a few!). Summer camp TechGYRLS also participate in community service trips and of course trips to the pool and beach! Campers will learn about STE2M through fun and exciting hands-on activities, projects, field trips, and job shadows.
